Knowing yourself and your energy means you can make the best of what is given to you by destiny; or the factors present at the time of your birth. Knowing your strengths and weaknesses will give you powerful insights into the best timing, the best opportunities and the best relationships in your life. The Eight Characters (BaZi ) or Four Pillars of Destiny is a conceptual term describing the four components that supposedly create a person’s destiny or fate. The four components within the moment of birth are Year , Month , Day and Hour.

BaZi translates our birth data into four pairs of distinct Chinese Characters (called Jia Zi ). Four pairs make Eight Characters (or BaZi). Each pair is also known as a pillar, hence the term Four Pillars. The eight characters are made up of the yin and yang variations of the Five Elements .

To calculate one’s Bazi chart, the Master will first convert the client’s birth information by using the ancient calendar called the Ten Thousand Year Calendar. The Bazi feng shui school chart looks at different time periods in one’s life, such as a 10 year period, and 1 year period. Calculations can also be done on a daily, and even hourly basis.

Each person has a predominant birth element , as well as the secondary feng shui elements. It is important to understand that no matter how good one’s Bazi chart is, we should always focus on strengthening one’s birth element. One can do that by taking good care of yourself, which includes having good feng shui in your home and office ; so a Bazi chart often gives recommendations on your best feng shui décor items, colours and overall feng shui of your home or office.

Understanding our BaZi helps us deal with uncertainties and allows us to understand our strengths and weaknesses in life. Factors such as luck are often indomitable and not within our control. BaZi analysis is designed to help us understand the cycles of luck and possibly understand how it influences our lives.
